BirdTalk Privacy Policy

Effective August 30, 2026.

In one sentence

The BirdTalk app needs no account, includes no advertising or tracking, and does not connect to a developer data server. Call-event metrics, photos, diet profiles, training progress, and owner recordings are processed and stored on your device by default. This website cannot access data inside the app.

Data processed on your device

Calls: Sound is processed only when you start listening or import an audio file. BirdTalk saves event time, duration, and acoustic metrics for listening coverage and personal trends. Raw continuous listening audio is not saved. Imported audio is read during analysis and is not copied into the app’s data directory.

Photos: Dropping observation photos you take or choose, plus on-device visible features, remain in the app container to build a personal visual baseline for the same bird. Photos are not uploaded and are not used to diagnose disease.

Daily care: Bird profiles, long-term diet structure, training steps and feedback, settings, and owner recordings you choose to make remain local.

What the app does not do

BirdTalk has no advertising, analytics, or tracking SDK. It does not upload, sell, or share recordings, photos, bird profiles, diet profiles, training progress, or usage history, and does not use them to train a cloud model. Local features continue to work if this website is unavailable.

Website visits and Cloudflare

This website is hosted and protected by Cloudflare Pages. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate page-view and performance trends. It does not use advertising cookies, browser local storage, or cross-site personal profiles, and it cannot access data inside BirdTalk.

Hosting and network providers may process request information necessary for security, reliability, and abuse prevention. We do not use website traffic to identify individual bird owners or for advertising.

Permissions, retention, and deletion

The microphone supports user-started call detection and owner recordings. Camera, photo, and file access are used only when you create an observation or import a file. You can revoke permissions in Apple system settings at any time.

Local data remains until you delete a record, clear all local data, or uninstall. BirdTalk retains up to 180 photo observations; the oldest photos beyond this limit are removed from the app container. Inside Privacy & Support, you can clear bird profiles, call-event metrics, photos, diet profiles, training progress, settings, and owner recordings. Because this data never leaves your device, the developer cannot remotely access or delete it.

Health and safety limits

BirdTalk provides daily records, visual descriptions, and general care guidance. It does not provide veterinary diagnoses, deficiency diagnoses, medication or supplement doses, or treatment plans. Contact an avian veterinarian if a change persists or appears with physical symptoms.

Contact

For product, privacy, or refund assistance, email 425452267@qq.com. We use support emails only to reply and resolve the request.

Changes

If a future version adds cloud sync, crash analytics, remote companionship, or user-submitted data, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy information before the feature launches and request consent where required.

BirdTalk

More understanding. Less interruption.
